The idea to create LabFive came from two French entrepreneurs. One of them has been in the 5-a-side world for many years through the ownership of a club in Aix-en-Provence, France. The other has lived in the United States for 20 years and is proud to have been one of the first 10 employees in the history of Facebook.
LabFive, features eight 90’ x 55’ 5-a-side soccer fields, a club-house and an e-sport centre in collaboration with MCES, a French Pro-Gamers Team. This is a unique innovation, proving that esports and traditional sports are not in competition.
The total investment for the club is approximate US$2 million, of which 1/5 was used for the 5-a-side soccer fields.
What we did
From site validation to the design of the soccer facility, our certified brokers, fully licensed architects and engineers provide valuable services to our clients everywhere in the world.
A 100% no-infill and high-density synthetic turf from ItalGreen and a 10 mm shock absorber pad to prevent injuries and improve turf performance have been installed on the playing fields. The frames and dasher-boards, hot-galvanized and thermo-lacquered as usual, have been fixed to a reinforced concrete footing made in accordance with local anti-seismic regulations. The polyester perimeter nets have to be cleverly divided in two on the short side of the field, the most stressed one, to facilitate future maintenance. LED lighting completed the installation.
